Zombie Sentry
Was it ever revealed how/where the original contagion infected Sentry? Roygbiv666 00:55, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
- No, all that was ever stated about the infected Sentry was that he was from another universe than Earth-2149, but was able to break the dimensional barrier on his own and started the infection in 2149. Oddly enough, he wasn't one of the Marvel Zombies who survived the wipeout of every living being in that universe. Crossing Realities must've taken a toll. . .

When did Spitfire become a vampire?
Hello. Long time listener. First time caller. I've been checking out recent issues of Captain Britain and MI13 and I see that Spitfire is now a vampire. There's is nothing in her profile indicating when this took place. I've always loved this character, though admittedly, I've not been keeping up with her recent adventures. If anyone can provide the title and issue number of when this took place, I would greatly appreciate it.
Brian Kurtz 19:59, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
I'll take a stab at this. It seems that Lady Crichton suffered a bite from her uncle John Falsworth. She has had blood transfusions since then, even by the Human Torch, however I think the most recent writers are still going off the fact that she had some vampiric blood left in her. There is also the interim storyline of Mortigan Goth, told in Mortigan Goth: Immortalis #1. During this storyline the vampire issue surrounding the Falsworth line comes into play (more recently). As far as an exact answer though, I believe it is either writers just inferring that she was once bitten and therefore still a vampire, an oversight by the writers, or a simple storyline hiccup that will someday be told. --M1shawhan 23:43, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Exiles and New Exiles
Is there any differnce between Exiles and New Exiles or did they just feel like re-starting the numbering?
RachelP1 01:31, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- Ahhh...the Exiles. Who knows why they do what they do. Yes, it is essentially the same team (as much as you can have a stable team which jumps throughout all of the realities). They still have a Tallus which communicates with the Panoptichron and gives out assignments. Not sure why they remixed/restarted/renumbered. Who knows why Marvel does anything? :)
- If you are looking for a challenge, fill in those comic pages and try to track down the number of universes they have visited.
- Artful Dodger 01:35, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- To expand upon Arty's answer, Yes, there are some significant differences in the team rosters between the Exiles and the New Exiles.
- The new title relaunched with only two of the original members still on the team, and the rest of the original members taking 'a break' from the series. Sabretooth from the Age of Apocalypse, and Proteus of the House of M reality warp, who is brainwashed and inhabiting Morph's body, are the remaining members. The rest of the new crew are all newbies, mostly introduced at the end of the Exiles series, including Remy (Gambit), Psylocke, Sage, Rogue, Mystiq, Cat Pryde (unidentified reality).
- The new one has been written by the infamous Chris Claremont since its inception, and the older series was also being written by Mr. Claremont as well. But since the team rosters are so different, I would guess that after writing ten or so issues with the older team, Claremont decided that he wanted to start over with new people and Marvel obliged, possibly hoping to boost sales of the series by re-titling it to bring in new readers. (But that's strictly a guess).
- So if you like Chris Claremont's writing, you'll probably like The New Exiles.
- --Nathan (Peteparker) (Earth-1218) (talk • contribs • email) 12:01, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- I see, so essentially the cast has changed (like that hasn't happened a hundred times in any other team based comic), but the story goes on. Thanks.
- And on...and on...and on...and on...and on....Artful Dodger 11:08, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
Gorgon's Daughter
This is such a cool idea for a page.
Does anybody know anything about Alecto (Inhuman) (Earth-616). I had no idea that Gorgon had a daughter. I can't find any info on her.--Stature 18:46, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- Check out Marvel Knights 4 #19+20, she's not all that interesting. She basically falls in love with an Alpha Primitive and flees to the Baxter Building to seek protection and amnesty so they can stay together. Not to spoil it, but the FF can't give it to them, and they're forced to retrun to Attilan and separate. :( Bummer.

When did the original Scorpion gain the Venom symbiote?
Clites.dylan24 19:50, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
This occurred during the Marvel Knights run on Spider-Man. The symbiote meets Gargan and offers itself to him. This happened specifically in Marvel Knights: Spider-Man #8 after the symbiote left its previous host Angelo Fortunato. Mac Gargan shows himself as the new Venom in Marvel Knights: Spider-Man #10. He later joins the Thunderbolts and his current storylines in Spider-Man interestingly show the venom symbiote to be a major player again. --M1shawhan 22:26, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

The title says it all. Please give me an answer to your opinions Cooldudemarvel22 21:14, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
The picture is hilarious when used with your question. That's a Spider "stalking" his prey. As far as the "when" he will see her again. Only time will tell. I'm sure if you write the editors of Spider-Man they will try to work her into the storyline. --M1shawhan 22:26, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Days of Future Past / Annuals
Does anyone know who the patially obscured faces on the cover of 'Days of Future Past' (Uncanny X-men #141) are?
Also where within the issues of Uncanny X-men do Annuals 5 and 6 fit?
Pikatyx 03:00, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
- The face behind Wolvie's right shoulder is Magneto. The one to the right of that appears to be Quicksilver judging by that distinctive upturned bang. The one next to it between Wolvie and Kate Pryde's head is Scarlet Witch. The two on the bottom row to the right of Banshee are Polaris and Havok. I can't make out the writing on the one behind Wolverine's right leg.
- Uncanny X-Men Annual #5 takes place between Uncanny X-Men #150 and #151. Uncanny X-Men Annual #6 takes place between Uncanny X-Men #167 and #168. --Brian Kurtz 04:09, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Marvel Graphic Novel #5
Just read 'Marvel Graphic Novel #5: God Loves, Man Kills' and it's got me all confused. Since when did Kitty use Ariel as a code name? Also I can't fit the story into the rest of the X-men series. As far as I can tell it has to be after Uncanny X-Men 169 (where Kitty is clearly referred to as Sprite but has the newer costume) but before Uncanny X-Men 171 (where Rogue joins the team). Trouble is that entire time Wolverine is in Japan, Cyclops is with Madelyn Pryor and the rest of the team are dealing with the Morlocks.
Am I missing something here?
RachelP1 05:44, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
- Not missing a thing! When she first trained with the X-Men and she was still in the "I have to come up with a good codename or face ridicule from my teammates stage", she took up the name Sprite. Shortly after that she officially was accepted by the X-Men and changed costumes from the black/gold to the green/gold costume. It was during this change that she donned the codename "Ariel". As for the reason for the change or an actual name change, I have yet to find, as most of the time her teammates call her by her nickname Kitty. She never makes an appearance and says, "Look out bad guys, I am Ariel!". Marvel.com lists her first appearance of "Ariel" as Uncanny X-Men #171 and I would go further to say her first appearance in the X-Men series as Ariel would have been the costume change issue, which was Uncanny X-Men 169 since she even asks Storm to call her by her new codename when she incorrectly calls her Sprite.
- If that is correct, then you are right in thinking that the graphic novel must fall after Uncanny X-Men #169 and before Uncanny X-Men #171. Since Uncanny X-Men 169 & 170 are basically continuous storylines, I would think that it should fall after #170 and before #171. This would keep in the line of:
- She is a member of the X-Men - Uncanny X-Men #168
- Her codename has changed - at least Uncanny X-Men #169
- She has changed costumes - " "
- There is a break in the storylines which would allow for the story to flow correctly - between Uncanny X-Men #170 and Uncanny X-Men #171
- Lastly, it must be prior to Rogue joining the team - Uncanny X-Men #171
- I think you are right on with your analysis so far and in the scheme of things, I bet you are right. I also think that the decision to drop the Ariel codename was a good choice. Not sure how that codename was gonna play out anyhow. ;) --M1shawhan 02:59, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
- Sadly that still doesn't make sense. Between #170 and #171 Wolverine is definitely still in Japan, it's fair to assume Cyclops is still with Madelyn (why travel all the way back for Professor X's TV appearance when he could watch is on TV - as the other X-Men do) and at the start of #171 Storm is down with the Morlocks. It's possible that she went back down but far more likely that she said that last bit of speech while she was still there. No way it fit within those two issues. Also Storm doesn't incorrectly use Sprite, Kitty says she thinks her 'current' codename is dumb and then Storm says that Kitty used to like Sprite.
- To be honest I don't think she is ever called Ariel in the actual series, just in the graphic novel and even then only by Stryker and his goons. My theory is either that it falls immediately before #169 (and is therefore the first appearance of the costume) and Stryker merely got the codename wrong, OR the graphic novel is not set in Earth 616, but a very similar version of it where Kitty decides she prefers Ariel to Sprite. Am I wrong? Is she called Ariel anywhere other than in the MGN5? Pikatyx 04:56, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
- You were right in correcting me (and it shows how a quick summation is never good). I perused the Uncanny X-Men 171 again and was not sure HOW I missed the first few pages showing Storm still dealing with the Morlock situation. You were also right in her comment on the Sprite codename, so nix my idea. You also made me go back to the beginning and read from her first appearance forward (thank you since I hadn't in an obvious while...) Funny thing is, I didn't have to get very far...her very first appearance as an X-Man in Uncanny X-Men #139 gave a pretty solid answer (see image). I will continue to look through all her appearances that I find and see if I can find any other references. But if she didn't like it when she first was offered the codename, I doubt she accepted it after that.
- As for the "where does this story fit in the greater scheme...", you got me. I am agreeing more with you now though on the first appearance and possibly the assumption that Chris Claremont always intended for her to be Ariel and maybe accidentally wrote that in with her costume change. However, I doubt it is a different universe for that novel since it is referred to in Stryker's more recent appearances in Earth-616, X-Treme X-Men #25, and it talks about what he had done back in the day. Possible, but not likely (course wouldn't surprise me if that was given by Marvel as a reason). Chris Claremont would be the best one to ask and I'd be surprised if it was not just a simple writing mistake. --M1shawhan 00:40, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
Vermin
In Spectacular Spider-man #196, Vermin dies. However, in Amazing Spider-man #556, He fights Spidey and eventually helps defeat the new Kraven. When did he come back? Did I miss something or is this one of those Brand New Day changes like Harry Osborn? Please, Help Me! I'm very confused. Clites.dylan24 22:44, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
- In Spectacular Spider-Man #196, vermin "dies", or at least the Vermin aspect of Edward Whelan fleeted since Barn Zemo's experiments were stopped and Vermin once again became Edward Whelan. It was not until a man named The Traveller found Whelan and pulled out the Vermin psyche once again. This happened in Web of Spider-Man #117 & Amazing Spider-Man #394. He has made various appearances since then as well. --M1shawhan 01:25, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Witch/Enchantress look
I'm trying to create a villainous witch or enchantress for a comic I'm creating. I'm trying to model her as a person who practices sorcery, or magic from earth, not channeling universal mystical energies, although she can. She's uses a magic staff, (or maybe a spell book?) and I'm thinking a Scarlet Witch headpiece on top. I'm having problems designing her costume, so can you recommend some witch villains to get some ideas from??? Most of the enchantresses I've found have spandex, skintight costumes and I trying to get an evil robed, or caped look.

Remember back when Nomad used to go charging into battle with a baby strapped to his back? (And I bet Cable thought he was the first one to come up with that ingenious idea. How did Doctor Doom take over the Beyonder's power in Secret Wars? Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum - If You Want Peace, Prepare For War - by Arijos0222 | 01:13, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
- He developed a mechanism for harnessing the Beyonder's power (cause...that's what Doom does, apparently), and then challenged the Beyonder. When the Beyonder began using his powers on Doom, the device drew the energy into Doom and his armor, empowering him. There was really not much explanation beyond "he built a device."

Comics:Iron Man Vol 1 vs Comics:Invincible Iron Man Vol 1
Basicli this is Invincible Iron Man volume 1 vs Invincible Iron Man volume 5
as both titles carry the same name in print "Invincible" Iron Man
granted you can say there was a iron man comic around when it was created but volume 4 was renamed Iron Man director of shield then so volume 5 used the old name so basic it is volume 5
so I am suggesting to rename Comics:Invincible Iron Man Vol 1 to Comics:Iron Man Vol 5
if this is not the case we should rename Comics:Iron Man Vol 5 7

Kitty Pryde's powers
In her phasing state, is Kitty Pryde weightless? For example, if she's on a weighing scale and she phases a part of her through the weighing scale, what happens to her mass? -- Freedomjeff 13:37, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- Mass and weight are not the same thing. Weight is dependent on where something is (under water, on a planet with a different gravity, in space). Mass remains constant, unless that is your super power. Kitty's mass stays the same while she is phasing, but whether or not her weight changes is up for grabs.
- If her weight does change and she becomes weightless, then why is she affected by gravity? When her powers first manifested and when she and Colossus first got busy, Kitty fell through the floor of the room. Seems like she is affected by gravity. but if her weight does NOT change, then how can she use her airwalking powers?
- More thoughts anyone?
- Artful Dodger 17:09, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- I tend to think of her powers as a "control of atoms". She phases through things by having a control over where her atoms in her body go. She moves her atoms "around" the atoms of other matter and this is allows her to "phase" through something. This would also, in essence, change her weight temporarily. It explains the reason she fell through the floor as the atoms in her body still were affected by gravity and "fell" through the floor. Although it doesn't EXPLAIN the air-walking, it does help theorize on it. She is moving her atoms around the atoms in the air. She has so much control over them that she can boost herself off the other atoms just enough to create momentum. She continues to do this and to people watching it appears that her whole body is walking on air. This, of course, is only my take on her powers. --M1shawhan 19:06, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- She controls her density, like Vision. By dispersing her atoms, she decreases her density (she still has the same mass, it's just spread out in a wider volume) and can phase through things, but is still under the effects of gravity. By decreasing her density, she's able to be lighter than air, allowing her to float. ...Or something like that. It's density-based, I know that. Just can't remember the EXACT mechanics of her powers (where's that Handbook...).

- I would guess that the figure you're talking about is Galactus, because A, he's a consistent bad guy of the Fantastic Four, and B, he's gigantic. Do note, however, that he can grow and shrink, so I believe he's been bigger than the entire Earth before. . . :)

A question about Sabretooth...
Wolverine's dog tag number is 458-25-243. Can anyone tell me what Sabretooth's is? I know this primarily refers to the films, but if anyone knows... Thanks.
