History

The Andes is a highland mountain range formed along the western coast of South America. Centuries ago, the royal elders of the race known as the Inhumans erected a city in the heart of the mountains known as the Great Refuge. The general populace of Earth were largely unaware of the the existence of the Great Refuge until the Fantastic Four discovered it while investigating clues to the whereabouts of the Inhuman Royal Family. Due to the Inhumans' highly advanced technology, this region of the Andes is a thriving temperate zone capable of supporting an ecosystem unlike that of other mountain systems.
