History
All four prototypes were bought by Hammer posing as an anonymous buyer. When Stark realized what he had done, he went after Hammer in the Outer Atmospheric Armor
SHIELD confiscated the suits from Hammer's space station.

Capabilities
The armor possessed a powerful breach cannon firing lasers that cut through any metal. An additional laser/light source was mounted on the helmet.
It also has some degree of magnetism.
The automatic collision avoidance program is a sophisticated auto-pilot. It can fly just as easily through space and water. Its only limitations were limited fuel and air supply.
The armor has a safety shutdown device built-in which can deactivate the armor by remote; unfortunately it was bypassed by Hammer.
